This Sunday will be our second dog training for all SEVA foster homes, volunteers and any adoptive families who may want to attend. Below are the details for the training. Sounds like it's going to be a great training with lots of tips!!!
Sunday, July 29, 2012 2:00-4:00 p.m. Merrimac Dog Training Club 15 Newsome Place (off of Pembroke Ave) Hampton, VA 23661
****The trainers feel comfortable with you bringing one of your own dogs as long as they adhere to the following guidelines. They are putting on two sessions that you will be able to switch between. Since there will be two trainers at this session, they are hoping to provide as much 1:1 or small group attention to those who attend. Please read the following guidelines if you plan to attend and bring a dog with you:
1) Bring only one dog if they are bringing a dog (unless they have another handler with a second dog)...basically one dog-one handler
2) No aggressive or reactive dogs at all (this means towards people OR other dogs)
3) They need to bring: 1) something for their dog to lay down on to be comfortable and possibly even a crate if they can do that. 2) Also bring a water bowl for their dog 3) and something they can chew on to keep them busy (stuffed Kong or something like that). 4) Also bring poop bags with them. 5) Have them bring lots of very small high-value treats (like hotdogs, chicken, turkey, cheese) 6) and a treat bag to keep them in (like a fanny pack).
4) Do not allow their dog to get nose-to-nose with any other dog on or off leash under any circumstance.
I look forward to seeing you at the training!!! |

GREAT BRIDGE
Beautiful, playful, happy, fun, friendly, sweet and a perfect family breed. These are just a few of the words that dog owners use to describe their golden retrievers.
Southeastern Virginia Golden Retriever Rescue, Education and Training is hosting a fundraising event on Sunday with hopes more people will come to that realization.
The fundraiser will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Big Woody's Bar and Grill, 123 N. Battlefield Blvd. Pets are welcome in the parking lot, where two tents will be set up.
